Community Partnerships in Pakistan

GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan supports various health, social development and education programs at grass root levels in Pakistan. Actively pursuing CSR initiatives annually, we believe in creating a strong bond between GSK and those communities that can benefit from our involvement.
We have established partnerships with multiple organizations in different areas, each representing a cause serving the underserved and making a difference, no matter how small. Some key partnerships undertaken by GSK Pakistan are with the Center of Nursing Excellence to support the development of quality nursing education across Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan National Forum on Women’s Health (PNF) and the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).  Another is The Trust for Health and Medical Sciences, which has been running a charitable clinic in the Landhi area of Karachi since the early 1980s and charges a nominal fee for treating patients. Since 1983, around two million patients have been treated and more than 90,000 patients receive medical attention annually, recently starting treatment and counselling for heroin addictsas well.GSK Pakistan also supports the Concern for Children Trust (CFC), which has been promoting preventive and primary healthcare and education for children in Pakistan since 1997, with a recently added focus on pilot projects such as community development in Mohammadi Machar Colony – a shanty settlement along the Karachi port.
